AraratBank warns:
The number of crimes committed online is growing each day and, although the RA commercial banks regularly refer to cases of frauds and provide relevant advice, the society continues to be conned by fraudsters and lose money.
If you are a List.am or a similar site user and you sell your product or service through these platforms, be more vigilant, never trust the "buyer" who contacts you (mainly through WhatsApp, Viber or other applications) on the pretext of buying the product/service and requests your card details in order to transfer the payment and then, using the provided details, steals your money. Therefore, do not disclose to the “buyer” and do not enter your bank card details (CVV / CVC, CVV2, OTP and 3D Secure codes) in the links sent by the latter, as you will lose all the money on your bank card," - AraratBank’s official release writes.
"The links may direct you to websites that look like any Armenian site, for instance, haypost.am or list.am. Before making a transaction, you should first make sure that you have accessed the official website of the respective company. For example, the address of the official website of "HAYPOST" CJSC is www.haypost.am, not haypost.orderw.online.
If, however, you have become a victim of fraud, block your card as soon as possible through AraratMobile аpp or call AraratBank 24/7 call center at +374 10 592323 or ArCa national payment system 24/7 support line at +374 10 592222,”- said Hayk Harutyunyan, Head of Plastic Cards Operations Department of AraratBank.
